Joining a Society Go to the Beds SU website.  Login using your UoB Login details (login button is in the top right-hand corner). Go to the second tab at top of page called “Communities”. Click on it and scroll down to “Societies”. Then you can scroll down the list of Societies to the one you want OR you can filter which societies to view by using the filter option to the lefthand side of the page. When you find the society you want to join click on it. Follow the instructions to join the group. Purchasing Society Membership When you click to join group, scroll down to the blue continue button. Click on the blue continue……. button and scroll down to proceed with purchase. Then click on the blue proceed button. You should then see a green screen telling you the purchase was successful. Go to the Beds SU website.  Go to the second tab at top of page called “Communities”. Click on it and scroll down to “Societies”. You will then see a blue button to the lefthand side of the page called “Start a new society”. When you reach the page, you will find information about starting a new society and a link to the “New Group Application Form”. Complete and submit the ‘application form'.  Your application will be reviewed by Beds SU within 7 working days of receipt.  You will receive an update about your application within 5 working days after the review has taken place. Society Meeting Updates  As a member of a society, you will receive an email update when a regular meeting is set up.   This will also show on the society page and on the Beds SU main events page at this link Society Events Updates  You will also receive email updates for any one-off events and activities a society is hosting.  You will be able to view these on the society page, and on the main Beds SU events page at this link Social Media Some societies also use different social media platforms to stay in touch.  Such as Facebook or WhatsApp etc.  They may need to stay in touch more regularly or quickly, for example, if they are working on a project or planning an event. 

Online Chat Groups for Societies Beds SU has set up society chat groups online (via a discord server) Links to the chat groups will be sent out intermittently throughout the academic year Allows newer members to sign up as the year progresses. How to join the Online Chat Groups for Societies Society members will need to follow the discord server link sign up information to join their society chat group. Please note that the discord chat group link may have an expiry date that you need to be signed up by. If you miss the deadline date or if you want to get chatting to members as soon as you sign up, you can request a new link directly for your society chat group by contacting help@bedssu.co.uk.
